Why do I have dark circles all the time?

Dark circles under the eyes can be caused by several factors, including:

  1. Genetics: Some people are simply more prone to having dark circles, either due to genetics or because of a natural skin tone that makes the area under the eyes appear darker.

  2. Lack of sleep: Not getting enough sleep can cause dark circles and puffiness under the eyes.

  3. Aging: As we age, the skin around the eyes can become thinner and lose some of its natural fat, making the veins and shadows under the eyes more noticeable.

  4. Allergies: Allergies can cause inflammation and swelling under the eyes, leading to dark circles.

  5. Sun exposure: Sun exposure can cause hyper-pigmentation, or darkening, of the skin under the eyes.

  6. Dehydration: Dehydration can cause the skin under the eyes to appear darker and more sunken.

To reduce the appearance of dark circles, it's important to get enough sleep, stay hydrated, and protect your skin from the sun. Additionally, using eye creams and treatments specifically designed to target dark circles can help improve the appearance of the skin under your eyes. If you have persistent dark circles, it may be helpful to consult with a dermatologist for a proper evaluation and treatment plan.
