Why doesn’t my lipstick stay on?

There are several reasons why your lipstick may not stay on:

  1. Dry Lips: If your lips are dry, the lipstick may not adhere well and can easily wear off. Make sure to exfoliate your lips regularly and apply a lip balm before applying lipstick to create a smooth base.

  2. Oily Skin: If you have oily skin, the natural oils can cause lipstick to slide off. Consider using a mattifying primer before applying makeup to help control oil production.

  3. Poor Quality Lipstick: Low-quality lipsticks are more likely to wear off quickly. Opt for a high-quality lipstick that is long-lasting and has good pigmentation.

  4. Eating and Drinking: Consuming food and drinks can cause lipstick to wear off. Touching your face and lips frequently can also contribute to the lipstick wearing off more quickly.

  5. Lip Preparation: Preparing your lips properly before applying lipstick can help it stay on longer. Use a lip primer or lip liner to create a barrier between your skin and the lipstick, and make sure your lips are clean and moisturized before applying.

To help your lipstick stay on longer, you can also reapply throughout the day, touch up with a lip brush or blot with a tissue, and finish with a light dusting of powder. Additionally, opt for long-lasting lipsticks, stains, or matte formulas, which are more likely to stay put than creamy or glossy formulas.
